Fauzi: Jakarta Futsal Team will Earn Gold Medal

Jakarta Futsal Team is optimistic in their ability to attain the gold medal in the National Sports Week (PON) XVIII in Riau the upcoming September.

They are optimistic because they have trained themselves hard and the contingents in their group in the National Sports Week are easy opponents.

Yes, the futsal team of Jakarta is grouped together with East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Sumatera and South Sulawesi.

"In Jakarta team there are national players and professional league players. We have big chance to become group champion and earn gold medal," said Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo, when he was inspecting Jakarta Futsal team training in Pancoran, South Jakarta, Wednesday (7/4).

Even so, Fauzi asked all team members not to underestimate the opponents` power. "Do not underestimate your opponents. Treat them like heavy opponents. Each athlete must give his best," he told.

"Technically the coach has given enough training. The most important thing is preparing the mental of winners," he stated.

Jakarta Futsal Coach, Robby Hartono is also optimistic about winning gold medals in the National Sports Week. "I am sure my boys will play nicely and bring gold medals home with them," he explained.

The preparation in facing the National Sports Week has been maximal. After two months of domestic training, the 14 people Jakarta Futsal team will conduct ranges of tryouts abroad. "Optimal preparation is needed to face National Sports Week. This month, we will go to Vietnam and China for tryouts," he furthered.

One of the Jakarta Futsal Team members, Sayan Harmadi, expressed his joy for having visited by the governor. He is proud and felt motivated to grab the gold medals. "We are proud and motivated to acquire the gold medals because Jakarta Governor came in person to watch our training process. I am sure we could present the gold medal for Jakarta," he finished.
