A year for futsal refs, instructors

Friday, 03 February 2012

Kuala Lumpur: This year which will see two important futsal championships in the continent is set to be a busy and challenging year for the Elite Futsal Referee Instructors, AFC Referees Director Yoshimi Ogawa has said.

Speaking at a three-day Elite Futsal Referee Instructor Course in the Malaysian capital on Friday, Ogawa said the year 2012 would be a special year for those involved in the game which is rapidly growing in Asia.

“This year promises to be a great year for the futsal referees and you the instructors,” Ogawa said while closing the course, part of the programme of the AFC Elite Education Seminar 2012.

“I believe this year will be really challenging to us. We will have the AFC Futsal Club Championship in the UAE and FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand.

“Therefore, I’d like you to open your eyes and ears and be ready to use you instructing knowledge and experience to help our futsal referees excel in their job.

“So your attendance of this course here would help you do that and I and AFC would like to thank you for your dedication and commitment to the game and I hope we will achieve success in the futsal arena this year.”
