Rachel Bax and Imogene head to USA

Two local futsal players have been selected to represent Australia in the Unties States next year.

Rachel Bax and Imogene Tomasone have only been playing the game for four seasons, but have already been deemed good enough to wear the green and gold.

The duo will head to San Francisco in May to compete in a series of matches against local sides, and Bax can’t wait to test herself against the Americans.

“It was really good to get picked, and we’re both excited about going overseas,” she said.

“I want to learn as many new skills as I can from playing against those different sides.”

Bax and Tomasone started their futsal careers at school and progressed to represent Northern NSW before going on to be named in the national under-19s squad.

The two will depart on May 25 and arrive home on June 7, after their matches against the San Francisco teams.
