Kyrgyzstan national team's tour to Uzbekistanreport by our kyrgyz collaborator
Belek Marles -
FUTSAL.kgThis week Kyrgyzstan national futsal team took a trip to Uzbekistan to face the runner-up of the last AFC Futsal Championship edition. As we know, qualifying tournament for AFC Futsal Championship 2012 in Central zone was cancelled due to Maldives' withdrawal. So Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan qualified for the final tournament automatically. But all these teams still have to prepare for the final round in UAE. And practice and training is never enough, so Football Federation of Kyrgyz Republic has initiated two away-games against neighbors' national team, as well as two games against futsal clubs of Uzbek Premier league.
The first game played on Tuesday, showed that Kyrgyz players still need to gain more experience on the international arena. Erkin Tabaldiev scored the first and the only goal for Kyrgyzstan in that game, Uzbek players responded with 6.
Next day, Nurjan Djetybaev's squad was more successful against Kogan club. Rustam Yermekov scored two goals, Azamat Mendibaev one, and Djetybaev, who is also the captain of the national team scored 6. The final score was 9:3.
On Thursday, Kyrgyzstan had a chance to take revenge, however Uzbekistan had proven their title of the second asian futsal team. Rustam Yermekov was lucky to score one goal for Kyrgyzstan, but it was not enough to beat strong Uzbekistani squad. They scored four and won the game.
Two main games for Kyrgyzstan were lost. But the fourth match on the fourth day of the tour had given Kyrgyz fans a hope that their national futsal team can improve and has good chances at AFC Futsal Championship next year. Kyrgyzstan faced Uzbek Priemier League's LOKOMOTIV club, and defeated them by 5:4. Penta-trick from Kyrgyz side was made by the captain and head coach Nurjan Djetybaev, who dedicated his goals to his Mother celebrating her 70th anniversary.
Great week for Kyrgyz futsal players, especially those who were introduced to international matches for the first time in their careers. Definitely, Kyrgyzstan has to improve their tactics and physics in the next few months to be well prepared for the Asian main futsal tournament in UAE.
As part of the preparation process, players of the national team have been involved in Kazakhstan Futsal league, as a newly formed club named BISHKEK (after the capital of Kyrgyz Republic). After 10 games Bishkek club remains on the 4th position after Kayrat, Tulpar and BTA-Futsal. Participation in Kazakh futsal league brings more interest to futsal in Kyrgyzstan. And the "main event" for Kyrgyz fans will be the encounter of Bishkek and Kayrat in the beginning of January.
