Federal secretary futsal tournament calling for entries

KUCHING: The federal civil servants will compete in Sarawak Federal Secretary Trophy futsal competition at Sports Planet Futsal Arena in Pending Industrial Estate starting Dec 10 to 11.

The competition is divided into two categories for men and women.
According to the deputy chairman of organising committee Razami Mohamad Jamali, the main aim of this competition is to strengthen ties between the federal civil servants.

“Besides that, the competition is also to encourage them to be active in sports,” said Razami in a press conference yesterday.
Razami highlighted that for the men’s category, each team must have Grade DG41 onwards officers and a veteran player, aged 40 years old and above.

“However, there is no specific condition imposed for the women’s category,” he added.
He added that the players must be representing their own respective departments or agency.
Razami said the organiser would be expecting 50 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams competing in this year’s competition.
Entry fee is RM180 per team and registration will close on Dec 5.
Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin will kick off the tournament on Dec 10.
