The AFC.comAFC targets 47 Regional Futsal InstructorsThursday, 06 October 2011Kuala Lumpur: AFC is aiming to have at least one Regional Futsal Instructor in every member association in the effort to drive the game forward in Asia, said AFC Futsal Director Ali Targholizadeh.
This will create a bigger pool of futsal instructors who are familiar with the language and customs of the respective Asian regions where they work.
Targholizadeh said: “Currently we have only 12 Elite Instructors and 27 Regional Instructors. We aim to have 47 Regional Instructors, or one in each member association of AFC.
“If we have more regional instructors, we will be better able to empower more local instructors who can reach deeper and all parts of the continent and coach more players,” Targholizadeh told the-afc.com on the sidelines of a futsal course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The FIFA/AFC Futsal Continental Train the Trainers Selection Course is held on 1-6 October 2011 attended by 25 futsal coaches from the Asean, East and South-Central regions who aim to be Regional Instructors.
Targholizadeh said futsal coaches should take any opportunity to upgrade themselves to benefit a larger section of players and spelt out the criteria to become Regional Instructors.
“A candidate needs to have a good command of English and have an AFC ‘A” Coaching Certificate or AFC Futsal Level 2 Coaching Certificate.
“He or she must also have experience in playing and coaching in futsal, able to conduct both the theoretical and practical sessions, physically and medically fit, knowledgeable and good communication skills.”
