Futsal continental course on Oct 1-6

Thursday, 29 September 2011

Kuala Lumpur: A FIFA/AFC Futsal Continental Train the Trainers Selection Course will be held in the Malaysian capital here from 1 to 6 October 2011 for the Asean, East and South-Central regions.

Twenty-six participants aiming to be AFC Regional Futsal Instructors will take part in the course which will be instructed by Tsang Wai Chung (Hong Kong) and Hossein Shams (Iran).

The West Asian regional course is set to be organised by FIFA in November this year in the UAE.

AFC General Secretary Alex Soosay said the popularity of futsal in Asia is growing and it is important for AFC to keep producing high-quality coaches and trainers to meet the increasing demand.

“This is why the Train the Trainers selection course is vital to the growth of Asian futsal,” Soosay said.

“AFC and FIFA are hoping that the participants who succeed in this course will go back to their own countries and regions and share what they have learned with others.

“I would like to thank FIFA for their assistance in making this course possible as well as those who have contributed to the event behind the scene,” he said.

The inaugural Futsal Continental Train the Trainers Selection Course took place in October last year attended by 25 participants from 22 countries.

The series of courses is set to produce more regional futsal instructors who will work closely with local instructors in the respective regions and countries to ensure the best coaching methodology reaches all parts of Asia.
