Last chance to get futsal up and running

02 Nov, 2011

FUTSAL: Tomorrow evening will see the final attempt to try and get a Futsal/Netball Twilight Competition commenced for the remaining six weeks of the 2011 season.

The idea of this competition came about from soccer approaching netball to see if they could use their courts, and between a soccer and netball representative, it was decided to offer both games on the one night for high school and above aged players.

Teams would be mixed with maximum of 10 players, eight would be better to give everyone a go, plus supplying an umpire at the same time. When not playing Futsal you could be playing netball and vice versa.

Costs are being kept to a minimum, for those players already registered with soccer or netball for 2011, the fee is only $5 and those that aren’t a small fee is being set.

So all those keen soccer and netball players that wish to have a run around for some exercise and fun please be at the Tennis/Netball Centre at Rygate Park by 6.30pm tomorrow night. Teams can be formed on the night if not already organised.

On a disappointing note the Tennis/Netball Centre has been the scene of some vandalism to the windows during the past couple of weeks.

This facility is for everyone to use and it is a sad that some people like to cause inconvenience and create costly repairs for the damage. If anyone has any details they might like to pass the information onto Council or our local police.
