The club were delighted to learn that their Perth Saltires team had been chosen to act as a host club for one of the preliminary groups of the UEFA Fusal Cup, and the squad are now anxiously awaiting the result of the UEFA Futsal Cup draw which will take place in Switzerland on the 6th July to discover which 3 teams they will be welcoming to Perth. With the preliminary round of games scheduled for the 13th to 21st August it will be a busy summer for the squad as they prepare to represent Scotland in the event for the 2nd year in a row. And with the likes of FC Barcelona entering the event in the following round, the PYF team have much to look forward to.

In the meantime, PYF are holding a 12hr Futsal game on Saturday 2nd July – starting at 9am and flowing through until 9pm. Participation is on a per-person basis and anyone interested in participating should just turn up to one of the following session times – 9 til 10am – PYF Skillz school players aged U14, 10am til 1pm is for the 14/15 age group, 1 til 4pm is for the 16/17 group, 4 til 6:30pm is for the 14/15 age group, and 6:30 til 9pm is for the 16/17 group. Participation fee is £3 for the day and all players must bring a white and a dark t-shirt, as it will be 1 continuous game.
PYF are holding their Level 2 coaching course on Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th July, featuring Spanish pro coach Sergio Martinez and the Head Coach of the Cyprus National Futsal Team Petros Konstantinou. The course is free of charge and only open to PYF coaches who have already passed their PYF Level 1 course.

The Perth Youth Futsal season restarts on 26th August and will continue with the same format as usual. Applications are invited from teams wishing to participate in the 14/15 years old and 16/17 years old groups, as well as any player wishing to participate in the PYF Skillz school, which is open to any player aged up to 14 years old. Places are limited in each group, so early applications are advised.
With many interesting developments and changes in the pipeline for the 2011/12 season, the club are looking for additional volunteer coaches / admin help / committee members / sponsors to help the club continue making progress. Anyone interested in helping should get in touch asap.
