TAIPEI INTERNATIONAL INVITATIONAL FUTSAL TOURNAMENT

The first international Futsal event in Taipei, since the 2004 FIFA World Championship, is to take place at the Taipei Gymnasium, on October 27-29.
The event is organised by the Taipei City Goverment Sports Department. The organisers invited Macau National Team , DC.Asahikawa Futsal Club (Japan) and Korean National Team in addition to the Chinese Taipei National Team. However, Korean Team declined the invitation due to the other commitments of National players. As a result Taipei Futsal Association's Select Team was included as replacement of Korean team.

Chinese Taipei National Team is managed by Ming-Chuan University Team Coach Mr. KAO YONG.
In this invitational tournament, his players should perform better than the this year's AFC Asian Futsal C'ship, where they lost all matches they played. And they are under pressure from their local rivals Taipei Futsal Association Select Team.
Taipei Futsal Association Select Team has more experienced futsal players, with 6 players having played together in the 2004 FIFA World Championship, 2005 AFC Asian C'ship (6th place) and 2006 World University C'ship (15th place).

The opening match between Taipei Select Team and DC. Asahikawa of Japan is to kick-off at 6 p.m. (+8 GMT) on Oct.27th.
