Among 103 universities, 42 men's football teams, 18 men's futsal teams and 12 women's football teams from 29 countries are selected based upon results in the past and/or their geographical situation. The new World Cup format incorporates a pool system of 6 teams per pool and takes in consideration a football and futsal infrastructure of 4 football venues with each time 3 football pitches and 4 sport halls with each time one futsal pitch. In addition the new World Cup format enables the federation to offer each university the best possible sanitary infrastructure and an optimal guidance platform. Per day, more than 150 stewards, 60 referees and 30 officials will ensure an optimal football and futsal environment. In September 2004, the official World Cup Guide, including all participation info, together with the pools and the names of the universities are presented on this website. Universities and Colleges (especially from Asia) that are still interested to participate in 2004, are free to contact the Federation. As a result of geographical arguments, the ISFF Management Committee is entitled to ask the host university to free one place of a local side. For the World Cup 2005 in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), registration modalities are placed on this website in August – September 2004.
