Draw Procedure – Group Stage MCMC 2015

For the purpose of the tournament draw, 36 teams participating in the competition are organized into four pots based on the ranking.

Teams will be seeded based on the results achieved in the Club Maldives Cup 2014, and

The pots will be populated in the following order.

Pot 1: Top ranking 9 teams
Pot 2: Second ranking 9 teams, starting from 10th ranked team.
Pot 3: Third ranking 9 teams, starting from 19th ranked team
Pot 4: Fourth ranking teams, and the new teams


Draw Procedure – Knockout Phase MCMC 2015

The round of 16 pairings is determined by means of a draw and is played under the knockout system.

a) The Club Maldives Cup 2015, organizing committee ensures that the following principles are respected.

b) Group-winners and seven best runners-up will qualify for the knock out stage (Round of 16).

C) Group-winners (best 8 teams) will be populated in pot 1 & 2, in group ascending order (eg, A1, B1, C1, E1 in pot 1 & F1, G1, H1, I1 in pot 2). Four teams in each pot.


d) Ninth team among the group-winners and runners-up (best 7 teams) will be populated in 2 separate pots, in group descending order (eg, I1, H2, G2, D2 in pot 3 & D2, C2, B2, A2, D1 in pot 4). Four teams in each pot.

e) First, teams in pot 1 and 3 will be drawn, and then teams in pot 2 and 4 will be drawn.

f) The winner and runners-up team of the same group cannot be drawn against each other.

g) The teams who win the R16 will qualify for the quarter finals


Pot 1 & 2: Group-winners (best 8 teams) will be distributed in group ascending order and populated in the two pots equally, 4 teams in each pot.

Pot 3 & 4: Ninth team among the group-winners and best seven runners-up will be populated in descending order and populated in the two pots equally.
