31/10/2003 - 03/11/2003 Futsal England Trophy 2003 Futsal England Trophy 2003 Cheltenham, England 31/10-2/11/2003 Cheltenham Spa, unofficial capital of the Cotswolds, and famous for its annual National Hunt Racing Gold Cup Festival, has been chosen to host the launch of FUTSAL ENGLAND the new body assigned with the task of bringing the FIFA sanctioned five-a-side game to the United Kingdom. The Futsal England Trophy, sanctioned by the FA, is to be an annual event and in this inaugural year there is an international flavour. Developing British teams will be competing against some of the world’s best Club Teams from Uruguay, Spain, Italy, Moldova, Belgium and the Netherlands. Such is the broad appeal and fair play ethos of this international game, that representatives from the Federation of Deaf Futsal Players will be attending from Italy and here in the UK. Our venue is the Sports Complex at the famous Cheltenham College. The indoor arena hosts a sprung wood playing surface with tiered seating and offers a state of the art swimming pool, newly laid tennis courts and an astro turf practise ground. There is a prestigious bespoke Trophy to be won, a plate competition and mementos for all players. Our referees and adjudicators have both FIFA and FA experience and the whole event is corporately sponsored. National and local media are involved in what promises to be a festival of entertainment.
