Futsal Date Set For April 29

The 2018 Futsal football tournament date has been confirmed for April 29. The tournament is going to cater for 32 teams who are going to play at the Hockey Court in Laucala Bay, Suva.

Bula Events Group director and tournament organiser Alan Kumar said to promote the sport in the country they are trying their level best to have the tournament meeting all the re­quirements stipulated in the futsal rules.

“There are so many teams and players around Fiji who can excel in futsal and it’s time to de­velop them and set a platform for these play­ers,” he said.

“We have seen some very good talents and these players have the potential to play at na­tional level. Every team that has registered in this tournament is compatible. We are request­ing business houses to support and help devel­op the tournament.”

Kumar added that plans are underway to or­ganise a two-day tournament in September where more than 40 teams will participate.

“After two successful tournaments last year, we have more tournaments lined- up in the coming months.”
