The FA.comEngland’s Futsal U19s squad will play their first-ever international games in March when they face the Netherlands. The Young Lions will head over to the Dutch national football centre in Ziest for the double-header which takes place on 2 and 3 March.
As the game continues to grow and gather momentum across the globe, England have developed the new age group team in line with the recent UEFA Futsal announcements to have an U19s Euros competition in 2019.
And the first U19 squad has been named by head coach Pete Vallance with 12 players selected, following a series of training camps at St. George’s Park in recent months.
“It’s a great moment for the development of Futsal in England,” said England Futsal head coach Mike Skubala.
“Although some of our youngsters have now been playing domestically for a couple of years, for them to experience the international level is a big jump and key to their holistic development as potential future England senior players.
“It will be great to see where we are at internationally at this age group, as Holland have had age group teams for many years ranging from U15 upwards and, as we know, they are a great senior side so this is going to be a huge test for our U19s Futsal Lions.”
