Great Lakes Futsal Invitational a success

Tournament gave girls opportunities to learn the rules of Futsal Soccer and see how other teams play the game

Steel City Rapids Soccer Development would like to thank SUFA for organizing the Great Lakes Futsal Invitational which was held this past weekend at Lake Superior State University.

On behalf of Steel City Rapids Soccer Development, all those who participated in the Great Lakes Futsal Invitational, we would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all of the exceptional staff at SUFA.

Steel City Rapids entered two teams in the tournament. “Both teams played very well,” said Anthony Romano coach of one of the teams and owner of Steel City Rapids.

The tournament also gave the girls opportunities to learn the rules of Futsal Soccer and how other teams played the game. “It was a bit of a learning curve when playing their first game of the tournament,” said Anthony Romano.

Anthony Romano was really proud of how the girls played and hustled during their games. The girls made it to the semi final game playing through double overtime and shoot out.

Again, a huge thank you to SUFA for organizing the tournament and looking forward to participating in future tournaments.
