Nigel DeanTHE Dorset Girls' League Under-10 Futsal Series culminated in the County Championship, regional qualifier for the National Futsal Festival at Redlands.
In the plate competition, Jurassic Coast Roar took the honours over their club rivals Jurassic Coast Storm.
In the Trophy event, last week's Jurassic Coast Futsal Cup winners Corfe Mullen Juniors edged out by an inspired Longfleet Youth and met Redlands FC in the final.
Redlands coming out on top and qualifying for the Regional Finals of the national competition.
The competition was hosted by Jurassic Coast Girls' Football Club with support from Longfleet YFC.
The action on the day was fast paced and exciting throughout, with the first phase of the competition splitting the six teams into two groups, with the winners and runners-up play-off winners progressing to the next round and the other teams taking part in a plate competition.
The second phase of the competition saw all three teams beat each other in the pool, resulting in the qualifiers for the county final being decided on goal difference.
The event was a culmination of a series of three events supported by funding from the County FA and The Postcode Lottery Community Trust, designed to develop and educate girls in the development phase of futsal and was considered a huge success by all the teams that took part, many congratulating Jurassic Coast Girls' chairman Nathan Wood on such a successful and well run series of events.
This Saturday sees the county's under-8 girls take part in their own festival at Redlands, where there is space for more teams and players.
Teams can be put together on the day, so if any girl footballers in current school Years Two and Three would be interested in taking part, contact the organiser by emailing secretary.JCGFC@mail.com.
Cost is £1 and players can be registered on the day, but contact the organisers in advance.
Clubs with insufficient numbers to make a five-a-side team are encouraged to still contact the organiser as teams can be put together with other clubs.
