Thailand's futsal team thump Timor Leste 11-2 in Group A opener

Defending champions Thailand opened their campaign in the ASEAN Futsal Championship in emphatic style following an 11-2 thumping of Timor Leste at Hua Mark Indoor Stadium on Monday.

The Group A fixture between the 16th-ranked Thailand and a Timor side languishing in the lowly 106th spot was always going to be a mismatch and the result came as no surprise as the hosts enjoyed complete control throughout the game.

They next face Brunei, who are also expected to offer little resistance, on Wednesday at the same venue.
