Bendigo futsal stars lead Victoria Country to title at 2017 National Futsal Championships

SIX Bendigo girls have helped Victoria Country win the under-12 girls title at the 2017 National Futsal Championships in Sydney.

Emily Everist, Frances Leach, Abbey Thompson, Lily Ivey, Octavia Di donation and Livinia Douglass were part of the team which defeated New South Wales 3-2 in the final at Penrith Sports Stadium.

The team, coached by Diarna Cartwright, was made up of girls from Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong and Macedon's Indra Thomas.

Everist capped a memorable championships by winning the under-12 competition's most valuable player award, while her teammate Katrina Antrobus, from Ballarat, won a place in the All Star team announced at the end of the championships.

The under-12 combination was the only Victoria Country team to snare a championship in Sydney.

About 50 Bendigo players were picked to play in the championships.
