FAI Futsal in the schools

Republic of Ireland registered a significant Schools Futsal programme over the past 3 months.

In Post Primary Schools the local FAI run an U-14 National Cup which this year had 258 schools involved and 495 teams (279 Boys Teams and 216 Girls Team). The competitions ran in each of the 26 counties then the four Provincial Finals and culminating in a National Final.

In Primary Schools FAI set up an U-11 Futsal programme which is non-competitive in line with the FAI Player Development Plan and the local blitzes take place all across the country. This year we 496 schools involved and 819 teams (475 Boys Teams and 344 Girls Teams).

Good news from Republic of Ireland then, as interest in Futsal continues to rise in Schools and Third Level! Keep up the great job!
