Bira'au Wilson SaeniOutstanding individual Futsal players received individual awards as the Auki Futsal Challenge ended successfully last Friday at the Aligegeo Futsal Court.
Some of the individual awards being awarded at the end of the week-long tournament are as follows; golden boot, golden hand, youngest player and firest player.
For the golden boot award, the 2016 Auki Futsal Challenge champions’ the Borders FC front man, Hiro Kialu claimed the golden boot after scoring the highest number of goals in the tournament after he helped his side in an unbeaten run throughout the tournament.
The golden hand awarded was no difference as it was awarded to the Borders FC goalkeeper John Lista after his excellent work between the sticks that earned his side the tournament's crown, his outstanding performance through out the whole tournament proven worthy after the final wrestle in the grand finale.
The fairest player award was awarded to Denish from the DFC Warriors after a fine tournament for young the DCF Warriors ace and the youngest player of the tournament was awarded to Alas Reggiemond.
The tournament successfully ended on Friday after Borders FC came from behind to defeat DFC Warriors in the grand final, 5-3.
The tournament that attracted hundreds of futsal fans in Auki and surrounding communities was proudly sponsored by Advance Technology, Elland Store, Fiona Indu, Hon Jackson Fiulaua and Star Futsal in Australia.
The Auki Futsal Challenge will now become an annual event after the successful tournament and this festive session, it has proven itself as the biggest sporting event that takes place in the Malaita Provincial capital of Auki.
