Malo Fatu, Astig cruise to wins

Malo Fatu and Astig got off to a rousing start in the 2016 Christmas Youth Futsal Tournament organized by the Saipan Soccer School.

Astig whipped Kanoa, 13-1, in the first game in the co-ed U16 division at the TSL Sports Complex, while Malo Fatu had a similar easy victory over Betde in the second match, 8-1.

Louie Calayag and Angel Sally scored three goals apiece for Astig, which drew two goals each from James Ermitanio, Alan Hinson, and Podziewski. Gillian Villagomez complete the scorers list for Astig, adding one goal. Other members of the Ryan Relucio-coached Astig are goalie John Bucayo, Jonathan Capayas, Anthony Fruit, and Anela Duenas.

Ian Maniago drilled the lone goal for Kanoa. Joining Maniago on the Kanoa roster are Bren Azarcon, Ericka Santiago, Princess Alcantara, Hannah Santos, Kiara Manganti, Brian Lubao, and Jaydee Jose.

In the second game, John Michael Rojas towed Malo Fatu to the win against Betde after firing five goals. Krizel Tuazon contributed two, while Kirt Andon tallied one. Also on Malo Fatu’s lineup are Katrina Costales, Thaiphi Austria, Paulyn Joyce, Terrence Belcher, and Andruw Omelau.

Taka Borja leads Betde’s roster and he recorded the team’s lone goal against Malo Fatu. Other members of the Batde are Taka’s younger brother Ichiro, Mark Esalan, John Paul Cruz, John Guiller and John Ezekiel Canape, Reginald Pascual, Aleyzeus Angeles, Jamin Elliot, Erlynn Sablan, Joannah Carreon, and Khristelle Itaas.

Meanwhile, the third and last game in the U16 division had Joseph Rasa’s Team and Evan FC settling for a draw.

Eunsyu Hahn, Oliver Lee, and Edwin Kim registered one goal apiece for Evan FC, which also has Rintaro Miyawaki, Go Sekiguchi, Jerlynn Castillo, Therize Millare, Jon Villagomez, Rinto Takahashi, and Katherine Magat on its roster.

Joseph Rasa’s Team, on the other hand, is made up of Jhoey Noble, Sebastian Manabat, and Audre Camacho, Leisha Sally, Tom Benavente, Joseph Rasa, Patricia Surima, Jason Quimzon, Brandon Dela Cruz, Tyrese Camacho, and Ethan Salavaria. Noble, Manabat, and Audrew Camacho logged one goal apiece for Joseph Rasa’s Team.

Besides the co-ed U16 division matches, three games in the co-ed U12 age group were also played in the opener of the futsal tournament and results will be reported in Saipan Tribune’s Wednesday edition.
