Get SurreyMessi, Neymar and Ronaldo pioneers for futsal fever in DorkingIt's all the rage in South America - and now Mole Valley has caught on tooby
Clive Youlton19 Dec 2016The town of Dorking has Futsal Fever.
Managed by Dorking’s Futsal Fever Academy and Surrey FA, the best teams from Mole Valley and all over the South East came to show off their skills in tournaments for girls and boys aged 7-14.
The reason the Copa Futsal Fever was such a huge success was the amazing turnout as more than 50 teams and 400 players took part in the inaugural event, held at Dorking Sports Centre.
Futsal Fever’s own teams performed fantastically, being runners up in the U12 boys tournament and then winning the U8 Boys tournament 24 hours later as the festical spread over two days.
Futsal Fever Academy Director Richard King, said: “This was our first tournament and we were thrilled with how it went and the great feedback we’ve had since. Our own teams played really well and we’re already looking forward to next year already.”
Futsal is a fun, fast, exciting version of indoor football, made popular in South America, and has been played by many of the world’s best players including Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Dorking academy runs classes throughout the week for boys and girls aged three to 15.
Futsal Fever supports MVDC’s Inclusive Sport Initiative, all abilities are welcome, there’s a membership scheme and free taster sessions are available.
