The FA.comEngland make solid startThree Lions have one point from their two IBSA Futsal Championship matchesEngland have retained a fighting chance in the IBSA B2 B3 Futsal European Championships with a draw and narrow defeat from their opening two games.
The Three Lions played on the front foot in Alanya in their opening game with holders Spain and led twice through goals from Adam Lione but were pegged back to draw 2-2.
They could not hold on to the victory despite some heroic work from Dylan Malpas in the England goal.
Following the sending off of Steve Daley for hand ball, Malpas saved the resultant short penalty and his team saw out the power play period without conceding.
However, Spain equalised in the closing moments and England followed up 24 hours later with a 3-2 defeat to host nation Turkey.
Despite having led twice through goals from Harry Gibbons and Jeremy Verneave, England trailed 3-2 at the interval.
In the second half Turkey altered their tactics and set up a deep defence which England could not break down, proving hugely frustrating.
On Wednesday England face unbeaten Ukraine in a game that can be viewed live on the @ibsafutsal Facebook page.
