Scott DonaldsonDecember 11 2016The Canterbury United Dragons claimed NZ Futsal League bragging rights in the 2016 competition.
The Dragons produced an impressive second half display to beat Waikato - Bay of Plenty 5-1 in the final, after scores were locked at 1-1 at halftime.
Canterbury's victory came on the back of a 3-2 win over South Island rivals Southern United in the semifinals.
Southern United had entered the final round of the national travelling series as leaders.
Wai-BOP were too strong for host team Auckland 6-1 in the other semifinal.
The NZ Football national futsal league ran from October to December and featured eight teams from throughout New Zealand.
