Futsal carnival moves to a new date

THE Island Pacific Apparel Futsal Carnival which was supposed to be played at the Nadi Muslim College ground this weekend has been shifted to next month.

This is after requests from majority of the teams for postponement because of the Vodafone National Club Championship, which started in Ba yesterday.

Carnival co-ordinator Nadeem Mohammed said he personally called the clubs to get feedbacks and majority requested for a postponement.

"After much consultation and deliberations, we had no option, but move the event to January 28-29," Mohammed said.

"During this extra period, we will and ensure that we take the tournament to the highest potential. We are planning for the launch later this month or early January," he added.
