Vital Football/York CityCity Futsal's Robbie boosts EnglandYork City Futsal player Robbie Bettson has helped England towards claiming a possible Futsal Home Nations Championship in Cardiff.
Bettson's side face a straight showdown with hosts Wales on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3.15pm) after both sides recorded a couple of victories.
England began their programme with a comprehensive 9-0 win over Scotland on Friday afternoon, with Bettson scoring what was described as "the goal of the day" alongside further efforts from Stuart Cook (3), Richard Ward, Joeseph Kenny, Toluwa Sotonyne, Russell Goldstein and Raoni Medina.
They followed it twenty-four hours later by totally overwhelming second opponents Northern Ireland 16-1, this time thanks to strikes from Luke Ballinger (3), Agon Rexha (2), Medina (2), Sotonye (2), Richard Ward (2), Jordan Edge, Cook, Goldstein, Liam Palfreeman and William Rooke.
Meanwhile, Wales were similarly victorious in both games while beating Northern Ireland 7-1 and then Scotland 5-2 to ensure a dramatic finale.
