Vital Football/York CityEngland call for City Futsal top scorerYork City Futsal's leading goalscorer Robbie Bettson has been named in a twenty-man England squad for a mini-tournament against home nations Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in Cardiff next month.
Bettson, who scored for England in their most recent fixture, a 3-3 draw with Germany in Hamburg, has already struck eight times for the unbeaten Minstermen this season while helping them to the top of National League North Division Two.
The tournament begins on Friday 2nd December, when England first tackle old rivals Scotland (kick-off 4pm) before taking on Northern Ireland twenty-four hours later.
Their final match witnesses a meeting with hosts Wales on Sunday 4th December, kick-off 3.15pm.
"Recently we played Germany in Hamburg, which was an amazing spectacle," England head coach Mike Skubala told thefa.com. "The players applied themselves very well in a few new aspects to move us on as a group in what was a highly testing environment for some of our younger players.
"As we look to build for our Qualifiers in January, it's really important that we test ourselves in three-game situations like the Four Nations," he added. "It would be great to see some fans down there in Cardiff to lend some support to the Futsal Lions."
