Kathmandu PostShankhamul stay atop in Group ‘B’Nov 24, 2016Shankhamul Futsal cemented their top spot in Group ‘B’ of the Red Bull National Futsal League with a crushing 10-2 victory over Kumari Futsal on Wednesday.
In their home match, man-of-the-match Abhaya Rana alone scored four goals for the table toppers. Shankhamul lead the table with 22 points from nine games, establishing a five-point lead over second-placed Kumari.
Nirmal Gurung also scored twice for Shankhamul. Rupesh Chhetri and Sumesh Tamang scored for losing side.
In a Group ‘A’ match, White Horse defeated Imperial Futsal 8-5 to climb to the fifth spot. Man-of-the-match Ritesh Lama’s hat-trick was crucial in White Horse victory. Manoj Prajapti and Manjil Maharjan also scored a brace each.
Nirajan Gaire had also struck a hat-trick for Imperial but it was not enough to save his side from the defeat. White Hourse have 16 points from nine games, while Imperial are sixth with nine.

In Group A match held at Baneshwar's turf, the home team registered a 5-3 win over Kick Off Futsal. Mansajan Rajbhandari netted hat-trick for Baneshwar. Despite the defeat, Kick Off is still atop the group with 21 points from nine games while Baneshwar has climbed to the second position with 21 points from equal number of the matches.
Similarly, in Group B match, Tahachal defeated Kirtipur Futsal by a huge margin of 11-5. Sujit Budhathoki scored double hat-trick for the winning team. After registering the win, Tahachal has jumped to the second position in the group with 19 points from nine matches while Sankhamul Futsal is on top with 22 points.
