Vital Football/York CityCity Futsal back on topYork City Futsal make their long-awaited homecoming this weekend as National League North Division Two leaders following a fifth successive triumph on their travels.
Two goals from Miguel De Vicente added to further efforts by Adam Richmond and England international Robbie Bettson as the visitors eventually proved too strong for a nonetheless always dangerous and spirited Durham side.
That valuable 4-2 result was sufficient to hoist the unbeaten Minstermen above both their latest opponents and leaders Tranmere Rovers and back to the top of the table despite not yet having played at home.
And following them already proving superior at their three closest challengers over the previous couple of months, highly-rated York are now appearing increasingly strong favourites to repeat their title success of last season when representing the city's university.
However, on that occasion they were unfortunately denied a return to the top-flight of the national game, therefore the progressive club soon linked up with York City FC with a view to realising that ambition and restoring top-level futsal to the city.
That has in turn witnessed them seemingly going from strength-to-strength with a catalogue of superb victories at Manchester Academy, Derby, Tranmere, Loughborough Academy and Durham.
This weekend all-conquering York finally open their home programme when hosting bottom-of-the-table Nottingham Trent at the University of York, with a 2.30pm kick-off on Sunday afternoon.
