Kumari Futsal, Imperial battle to wins

Nov 9, 2016- Imperial Futsal and Kumari Futsal recorded wins in the Red Bull National Futsal League on Tuesday.

Held at their own backyards in Kaushaltar, Imperial beat visiting Adarsha Futsal 6-5. Krishna Adhikari completed a hat-trick for the home team, while Sumeru Thapa scored a double and Bal Krishna KC added the another goal.

Samir Karki and Daniel Shrestha scored braces, while Utsav Rana was also on the scoresheet for Adarsha Futsal. Adhikari was named man-of-the-match.

Kumari Futsal were also made to battle for a 5-4 victory by the home team BG Brothers. Remarkably Avishek Rijal struck all five goals for the visiting team, while Akash Lama scored two and Prakash Thapa and Rabi Tamang added one goal each for BG Brothers. Rijal was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Imperial have seven points from five games while Adarsha have just one point from five matches in Group ‘A’. Kickoff Futsal lead the Group ‘A’ standings with 15 points with Baneshwor Recreational Centre in second with 10 points. Shankhamul Futal lead the Group ‘B’ standings with 10 points. Second-placed Tahachal also have 10 points.

In all, 16 teams are participating in the highest cash-prized futsal tournament. The champions will receive Rs 1 million and the runners-up will take home Rs 500,000.

The best player and the best goalkeeper of the tournament are also assured of Rs 50,000 each. The tournament is played under home and away format with winners of each of the two pools to play for title.
