The Minstermen triumphed by a 7-3 scoreline while attempting to cover a third successive weekend without a league fixture.
That inactivity witnessed Derby moving above them into third place in FA National Futsal Super League North Division Two after a 4-3 win at Manchester Academy.
Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers extended their lead at the top of the table courtesy of a similarly narrow 5-4 triumph at neighbours Liverpool.
York are next in action when travelling to Loughborough University on Sunday.
Other scheduled weekend games have Durham v Nottingham Trent and the reverse meetings of Tranmere v Liverpool and Derby v Manchester.
