York City Futsal's Robbie Bettson scored within two minutes of the kick-off as England shared six goals with Germany in a dramatic encounter in Hamburg.
However, it required a late equaliser from Max Kilman to rescue the visitors with just fifteen seconds of the game remaining.
Bettson had earlier forced in a cross from the right by Stuart Cook but replies from Daniel Frederick and Timo De Georgio saw Germany lead at the interval.
England's Richard Ward struck after the restart, only for Stefan Winkel to make it 3-2 for the hosts, until up stepped Kilman to smash a late leveller.
