Women’s futsal sessions launch in Barking & Dagenham

01 November 2016

Keen to get back into sport? Or want to try a new one? If you’re a female aged 16+ you can learn new skills with your friends and have fun at new Ladies Futsal Sessions from Tuesday 8th November in Barking & Dagenham.

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced, small-sided football game which is widely played across the world and is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA. Females can now enjoy the casual and low-key kickabouts for just £2 a session at Barking Abbey School’s Indoor Dome in Sandringham Road, Barking, and the first session is free.

The nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies which can be translated into the eleven-a-side format of the game. Many of the top world class footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development. These include Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
