Red Bull Nat’l Futsal League: Kickoff, Kirtipur register victories

Kickoff and Kirtipur Futsal registered contrasting victories in the Red Bull National Futsal League on Wednesday.

Held at their home court in Sitapaila, Kickoff hammered Baneshwor Recreation Centre 5-0 with skipper Rajesh Kunwar completing a hat-trick. Kunwar opened the scoring early in the first minute before adding his second in the sixth minute and third in the 36th minute. Prabesh Joshi and Krishna Lama also added a goal each for Kickoff. Kunwar walked away with the man-of-the-match accolade.

In a high scoring thriller, hosts Kirtipur Futsal saw off visiting Tahachal Futsal 6-4. Maharjan trio of Pratap, Yaman and Apex scored two goals each for the winning side, while man-of-the-match Sudip Budathoki struck a brace and Sunil Basnet and Raj Shah scored a goal each for Tahachal.

In all, teams are taking part in the tournament organised by the AMA Events. The eventual champions will earn Rs 1 million and runners-up will walk away with Rs 500,000. The best player and the best goalkeeper of the tournament will receive Rs 50,000 each.
