Newham RecorderGenesis aim to stay perfect in National Futsal Super League South when leaders Helvecia visit University of East London06 October 2016Claudio Ribeiro netted hat-trick last weekend for Carlos Felipe Codinha’s men against local rivals Baku UnitedGenesis will be hoping they can knock London Helvecia off the top of the National Futsal Super League South standings when the rivals do battle on Sunday.
The University of East London will play host to the crunch top-of-the-table encounter and one perfect record is set to go.
First-placed Helvecia have won four out of four so far and are three points ahead of Genesis – who have won all of their matches to date and scored 29 goals, while conceding seven.
Claudio Ribeiro celebrated a hat-trick at home to local rivals Baku United last Sunday, but it was a real team effort that saw Carlos Felipe Codinha’s team end up with a 10-3 victory.
Manuel Sarmento put Genesis ahead early at UEL, before Scott Cousins equalised.
Visitors Baku took the lead when Adrian Zalazny tapped in after good work by Marcello and Mindo, but Sarmento levelled shortly after Codinha’s time-out.
The hosts conceded a sloppy goal just before half time, though, as Baku’s Rob Ursell was left unmarked and scored.
Genesis exploded into life after the break, however, and equalised through Max Kilman.
Ribeiro got his name on the scoresheet moments later as the home side led for the first time.
Kilman added a second with a sensational solo effort, before Filipe Neves made it 6-3.
Baku then switched to a flying keeper and Jamie Shawyer scored a seventh for Genesis, with Ribeiro completing his hat-trick and Neves also netting.
