Futsal courses for coaches and referees this month

In October we have a Futsal course available for both coaches and referees.

The FA Coaching Futsal Level 1 Course and FA Conversion Course for Futsal Referees will take place on Thursday 27 October.

The FA Coaching Futsal Level 1 course will be taking place at Penketh High School in Warrington and is open to all coaches regardless of experience. The course will provide a clear understanding of the basic techniques related to coaching futsal and develop an awareness of the part futsal can play in the development of young players.

The FA Conversion Course for Futsal Referees will take place at Tranmere Rovers FC, Wirral and is designed to provide training for those currently registered as 11 a side referees planning or wanting to referee futsal. The course will clearly define the difference from 11 a side football, provide an understanding of the laws of futsal and provide the opportunity for practical application on the evening.

Participation in futsal is continuing to rise with youth participation increasing by 100% in the past two years, highlighting the demand for more coaches and referees.

This season in Cheshire the Halton & District Junior League and the Wallasey Junior League have integrated a winter futsal programme within their U9s and U10s age groups. The traditional outdoor grass fixture programme will be replaced with 6-8 weeks of futsal. Not only will this guarantee fixtures regardless of the weather it will also support the technical development of the players.

Cost: £48 for a coach from an FA charter standard club or £58 for a coach from a non-charter standard club

Time: 6.30pm – 9.30pm
Venue: Tranmere Rovers Recreation Centre, Prenton Park, Prenton Road West, Birkenhead, CH42 9PY
Cost: £35
