City Futsal top the table

York City Futsal's weekend victory at Derby has already taken them top of FA National Futsal Super League North Division Two.

The Minstermen romped to a second successive away triumph as skipper Daniel Pedras scored twice in a 5-1 win against the side finishing second to them in the table last season.

Recent trialist Jack Overton, Spaniard Miguel De Vicente and Portugal's Fabinho Almeida were similarly on the mark as the visitors followed up their big opening day 11-2 success at Manchester Academy.

Durham had been leading the way but narrowly lost 6-5 at Tranmere Rovers, therefore allowing Loughborough Academy to move into second place with a 7-4 win over Nottingham Trent.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were also victorious while defeating Manchester Academy 5-1 in the north-west derby.

Leaders York are next in action when travelling to Tranmere on Sunday-week, although their following home meeting with Liverpool at the University of York has now been rearranged for Sunday 22nd January 2017.
