Larijani Congratulates Iran’s Futsal Team for Securing 3rd Place in World Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani congratulated the country's national Futsal team for claiming the third place in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016 after beating Portugal 4-3.

In a message on Sunday, Larijani said taking the third place in the FIFA Futsal World Cup by the brave Iranian youth in Colombia brought joy and happiness to me and millions of people.

He offered his heartfelt congratulations to the Iranian nation, futsal players and their families, coaches, and technical staff on the occasion of this great achievement.

The Iranian speaker expressed the hope that Iranian youth could always score victories in international stages.

Iran’s boys won the bronze after a six-round penalty shootout in the Coliseo El Pueblo stadium, in Cali, Colombia on Saturday.

In a similar message on Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hailed the team's victory via a post on his twitter account.

“Congratulations to Iran futsal team for their unprecedented achievement at #FIFAFutsal2016 - winning bronze medal. Well done guys.
