Manchester Futsal 2 York City Futsal 11

York City Futsal began their FA National Futsal Super League North Division Two title defence last week with a resounding 11-2 victory against Manchester Academy at the Trafford Centre.

Spaniard Miguel De Vicente opened their account from England Under-19 international Dylan McAvoy's pull-back before Portuguese-born skipper Daniel Pedras expertly rounded the goalkeeper to add a second.

England international Robbie Bettson then forced in Fabinho Almeida's driven cross at the far post to make it 3-0 before lovely approach work allowed De Vicente his second - and the goal of the game.

Dominant York struck again with Pedras crashing his second of the afternoon into the top corner before their opponents broke away to reply; only for Robbie Bettson to then double his own personal tally.

Portugal's Almeida next drove across the goalkeeper as the visitors further extended their advantage, while another swift break witnessed youngster McAvoy easily slotting them into an 8-1 interval lead.

Manchester were actually first to register upon the restart but Jamie Bettson soon replied when taking advantage of a defensive mistake and jinking around the goalkeeper.

Mahiko Konishi went on to drill a low free-kick into the corner to bring up double-figures for the visitors, whose McAvoy then steered in a left-footed finish to finally complete the scoring.
