The AdvocateDolbel’s love of the game heads to UKby
Brad Cole23 Sep 2016A passion for sport at a young age now sees Devonport’s Chelsea Dolbel ready to make her debut for her country next month.
The talented 14-year-old Reece High School student is headed to the United Kingdom for an Australian futsal tour, and was selected after her performances at the national championships back in January.
Dolbel said she has always been attracted to the round-ball code in both it’s varieties, no matter who her teammates were.
“I’ve been playing soccer since grade one and futsal for the last 3-4 years,” she said.
“When I first played it was with a mixed team, then I managed to get into some representative teams that were all-girl, and now with the (Devonport) Strikers it is all girls.
“The futsal team I play with on a Friday nights is all girls as well.”
Dolbel, who can play as either a striker or midfielder, also has some clear goals for her future endeavours.
“I want to become a professional athlete if I’m good enough,” Dolbel said.
