Ricardinho stole the show and jumped clear at the top of the goalscoring charts as Portugal beat Costa Rica 4-0 in Cali to advance to the FIFA Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016 quarter-finals.
Portugal's No10 needed about four minutes to set the tone when he scored a superb goal directly from a pinpoint accurate, defence-splitting pass from Bruno Coelho.
Ricardinho, the three-time World Futsal Player of the Year, then scored his second of the match and tournament-leading 11th goal shortly after half-time with a fiercely hit shot with his left foot, leaving Costa Rica goalkeeper Alvaro Santamaria with no chance due to the pace of it even though the shot was hit directly at him.
Portugal's third came when Andre scored from a corner-kick pass. Costa Rica had switched off for a second and that proved to be too long as they found themselves three goals down. Moments later, Tiago Brito finished with neat skills from close range after Costa Rica failed to clear their lines to make it four unanswered goals.
There was only going to be one winner in this match, and even when Costa Rica had decent opportunities on goal, they failed to convert them and were unable to breach Bebe's goal.
Portugal will now play the winner of Thailand-Azerbaijan, which takes place tomorrow at 17:30 local time in Medellin, in the quarter-finals.
