AMA gears up for lucrative 16-team Futsal League

AMA Events is all set to organise the highest-cash prize Red Bull Futsal League beginning from September 26 in Kathmandu.

A total of 16 teams made the final cut for the tournament proper after a round of preliminary selection tournament held in different venues. The participating teams have in divided into two pools with Adarsha Futsal, Baneshwor Recreation Centre, Busy Brother, Chaur Recreation Centre, Dhuku Futsal Hub, Harisiddhi Futsal, Highway Futsal and Emporial Futsal draw in Group ‘A’.

Group ‘B’ consists of Kirtipur, Kumari, Rajani, Samkhushi, Sankhamul, Tahachal and White Horse. Each team will play the other at home and away with the winners from each group meeting in the grand finale.

The champions will receive a cash purse of one million rupees and runners-up will take home Rs 500,000. Each team will consist of 12 players, one coach and a manager.

The best player of the tournament and the best goalkeeper will get a cash purse of Rs 50,000 each. Chaur Recreation Centre and Rajani Futsal will play on the inaugural day. Two matches will be played each day except for the inaugural and closing day. The tournament will halt during Dashain and Tihar,” informed the organisers here during a press conference on Friday.

The tournament is so far the biggest futsal event of the country in terms of cash prize offered to the champions and runners-up.
