Futsal Winners To Receive A Champion’s Experience

West Cumbria Futsal are hoping their second season will be even bigger and better than the first after agreeing an exciting tie-in with a former Premier League title-winning club.

With more teams competing than last season and an extra age group being added, the League has also struck up a partnership with the charitable arm of Blackburn Rovers to offer the winners some great opportunities to be part of a professional football matchday experience.

The U13’s kick off the season on Friday 16th September at Lakes College where the teams will be playing for an unforgettable prize, as Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are offering the winners of the league a full day of lifetime memories.

They will travel to Ewood Park where they will be coached by the Community Trust coaches, visit the FanZone and the new GAME Room prior to a first team fixture, before enjoying a unique opportunity before and during the match.

The winning team’s players will form a guard of honour for the players coming onto the pitch before taking up their seats in the new Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand. At half-time they will be invited back onto the pitch to take penalties on the famous Ewood Park turf, which has been graced by club legends such as Alan Shearer, Matt Jansen, Damien Duff and Benni McCarthy in recent years.

The U12’s League is aiming to get underway in October at the new Workington Leisure Centre, with matches also being held on a Friday evening. The U12’s will be playing in a small group format which will allow any teams that have not played Futsal before the time to adjust to the rules and speed of the game prior to going on and playing for a place to represent the County at the FA National Youth Futsal Festival next spring.

Due to the Futsal League’s association with the local youth football competition, the West Cumbria Youth League, all matches will be officiated by CFA registered referees and the league will be administered on the FA Full-time website.

If any U12 teams are wanting to enter the league they will need to be quick as places are already filling up. The league can be contacted for further information and team registration via email at Westcumbriafutsal@gmail.com.
