Newham RecorderGr-eight start for Genesis in FA National Futsal Super League South13 September 2016Carlos Felipe Codinha’s men thrash Bristol City 8-0 while London Baku United win 4-1 against London UnitedGenesis didn’t need long to lay down an early marker in the new FA National Futsal Super League South season on Sunday.
Carlos Felipe Codinha’s team welcomed Bristol City to University of East London for a 6pm kick-off.
It would prove to be a long evening for the visitors as they were thrashed 8-0 in Beckton.
Filipe Neves, a summer signing for Genesis, opened the scoring after three minutes at UEL.
Further efforts from Ivan Dju and Max Kilman ensured the hosts led by three goals at half time.
And after a dominat first period, the second was even better for Codinha’s young squad.
Dju and Kilman completed their braces before Manuel Sarmento, Claudio Ribeiro and Tom Coulter got on the scoresheet.
It concluded a wonderful start for the Newham-based club and puts them top after one round of matches.
A statement from Genesis said: “Carlos Codinha was able to rotate the team and maintain the same intensity throughout the game.
“Overall the manager and players can be happy with the win in the first match of the season. Genesis will now prepare for the next fixture.”
London Baku United also produced an impressive performance first up as they beat London United 4-1 at the CopperBox in Stratford.
It puts them second, behind Genesis on goal difference, ahead of the next round of games on Sunday.
