Carlos AruafuTHE national futsal team captain Elliot Ragomo has dedicated their participation at the upcoming FIFA Futsal World Cup for the future generation of futsal in the country.
In his post in the Social Media Facebook page, Ragomo said he dedicated their participation for the young futsal players who dream to one day become a Kurukuru who will represent the country.
“Before our first game in the World Cup and the greatest event we all have been waiting for, I would like to dedicate this event and world cup to all you young and future generations of Solomon Islands who dream and still dreaming like I was once did, this is for you!” Ragomo wrote.
“My prayer and dream is for you future Kurukuru players and children and I hope you have what I have been dreaming and crying for,” he continued.
“I pray that you will have your own futsal court that I didn’t have.
“I pray you can be stronger than I am when your dream starts to fade.
“I pray that you will not go through the struggles and pain that we Kurukuru boys have been through and that yours will be a smooth one.
“I pray that when you put on the Kurukuru jersey you feel half a million Solomon islanders believed in you from east to west.
“And I pray and dedicate this world cup to you every single kid in the Solomon Islands for believing and dreaming like us and never give up in those tough moments that will define who you are.”
Ragomo has been chosen again as the team captain for this World Cup in Colombia.
He is an inspiring player who has touched the hearts of many young Solomon Islanders through futsal.
Ragomo is not only a futsal icon but a good ambassador for the Solomon Islands abroad.
Kurukuru are set to play their opening match against Costa Rica on Tuesday.
