Mazin RizkSAFRA beat defending champions Zallaq 3-2 in penalty shootout to claim the title in the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centers Futsal League which took place yesterday at the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation Hall.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw with Rashid Bakhir Al Dossery scoring for Al Zallaq while Mohamed Abdulla scored Safra’s goal.
Safra’s goalkeeper Hamad Dasas excelled in the penalty shootout as he led his team to victory by blocking two shots while his teammates scored twice.
Abu Saiba finished in third place after downing Shakhoora 4-1.
Abu Saiba opened the scoring through Sayed Hassan Sayed Maki while Hussain Al Malik scored the second goal.
Jaffar Bannai and Sayed Fadhil scored the last two goals for Abu Saiba while Ahmed Abdulrasool scored Shakhoora’s only goal in the dying minutes.
The first Khalid bin Hamad League for People with Special Needs saw the Deaf team claim the trophy after outplaying Harakia Society 6-0 in the final.
Akbar Salman was the man of the match scoring five goals for the Deaf team with Yousif Al Alawi scoring the sixth goal.
First deputy chairman of Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and president of Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa awarded the winning teams and runners-up their medals.
Shaikh Khalid also gave out the individual awards to the winners.
The individual award saw Harakia Society’s Nabil Al Dossery claim the best player of the league. The Deaf team’s Akbar Salman won the top-scorer award. His team mate, Ayman Al Hidi, won the competitive seal award, sharing it with The Special Education team’s Abdullah Ahmed.
