Kurukuru impress against Mozambique

The Solomon Islands futsal team is coming in hot for the upcoming FIFA Futsal World Cup, showing their ability against African World Cup qualifiers Mozambique in two friendly matches last week.

The Solomon Islands futsal team drew 1-1 in their first match
against Mozambique.

The first match was neck-and-neck, ending with a 1-1 draw after captain Elliot Ragomo managed to slip through the Mozambique defence to finish.

The whole squad showed true Kurukuru fighting spirit in the second match, coming back from 3-1 at half-time to level the score at 3-3, but unfortunately conceded in the last few minutes ending the match at 4-3.

The Oceania champions will take on World number one ranked side Brazil in a friendly match tomorrow as they prepare for their first match of the World Cup against 19th ranked Costa Rica on 12 September.
