UEFA Futsal Cup, the first ever time of San Marino

How to conquer Podgorica? Well, this is probably not the real priority of Massimiliano Spada, head coach of San Marino's 15/16 league champions Tre Fiori FC. Futsal history will be anywhere ready and available to address a warm welcome to the first ever Sammarinese club taking part in the UEFA Futsal Cup (preliminary round: see all details here!), definitely not a modest achievement.

Tre Fiori recent story is an inspiring tale of sport resurrection from a huge disappointment: just 12 months before they were losing both league and cup finals to the same rivals: Pennarossa.

But sport is a place where there's always room for a second chance and that is recent stuff: three goals (one in league final's extra time vs Domagnano, two in Coppa Titano Futsal last act against La Fiorita) by team hero and best player of the season Danilo Busignani gives Tre Fiori the historical double, with the national league title taking also a ticket to Montenegro: can you ask for more?

If more glory is waiting for Tre Fiori, we'll find out between August 16th-19th in the Podgorica's Moraca hall, during three games against hellenic holders Athina '90, local champions Military Futsal Team and Irish winners Blue Magic.

The Sammarinese side, featuring also the celeber former motorcycle champion Manuel Poggiali but missing in Montenegro Andrea Capicchioni due to injury, have tried to adapt their way of playing to the indoor venues, as the sport in the country is still played outdoor on synthetic turf pitches.
