The North Africans, three-time winners of the continental championship scored twice in each half before Angola scored two goals in the dying minutes but it was too late to help their fortunes.
Two minutes into the game, Egypt went up through Mostafa Rezk to unsettle the Angolans, who fluffed some decent chances at goal in both halves.
Midway Egyptian keeper Ibrahim Mohamed pulled the best save of the opening minutes stopping a Mario Antonio goal bound shot with his feet.
Few minutes later, the Pharaohs strengthened the lead through Mostafa Mohamed for a two-goal lead at the interval.
Mohamed scored his second of the game seconds into the second half to take the game beyond the Angolans, before Ibrahim Magdy made it 4-0 on 38 minutes.
The last 90 seconds saw Angola come into the picture and succeeded in reducing the deficit through Osvaldo Inacio ‘Kaluanda’ and Mario Antonio.
Egypt temporarily moves to the summit on four points with Angola at the depth without a point from two games.
